Artist's Comments

Here is one of my first doll sculptures circa 2001, it's a mixed media sculpture titled pretty children.
It has a poem inside of it ( there is a jar in it's body with a stuffed clown holding the poem in his hands) the poem reads "all pretty children grow into ugly adults" actually it's more a statement rather than a poem.

Pretty children by *the-real-indio Gritty, coarse, and almost downright grotesque; in the end all artistic tales have a moral like this one. More or less. What do you think? (Featured by `dedredhed)

this one took much longer to do, i used to scare commuters with it before i sold it.

thanks, their work opened my eyes a thousand times. what they do isn't meant to be scary or cheesy it is honest ugly beauty. alot of my mixed media works are more like unanimated quay films.

this is very impressive, and the jar stuff is a great idea.
What kind of materials do you use to obtain that "rottingflesh" effect?

thanks again, i used to do the jar effects alot in my older works, i have to get back into that. it's a trade secret on what materials i actually use, but for the most part i have painting techniques downpat for each texture that i want

thanks, i did this in a few days time, i usually work pretty quickly, from concept to completion
